Shobhit Baadkar, Principal, Titan AEC

Shobhit Baadkar is one of the founding partners of TITAN AEC. TITAN AEC implements design and construction technology solutions throughout the world. With over 20 years of technology experience under his belt, Shobhit has trained and implemented hundreds of users operating various AEC software applications. Baadkar has worked with various companies and government agencies in developing their IT and cybersecurity strategies.

He is an Autodesk Implementation Certified Expert and an Autodesk Revit Certified Professional. He has been invited to speak nationally at various professional organizations and universities throughout the country. Shobhit has also consulted with various companies in the architecture, engineering & construction market segment. He is also a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California where he lectures about Building Information Modeling at Viterbi School of Engineering. Baadkar heads up all business development and strategy for TITAN AEC.

James Benham, CEO and Co-Founder, JB Knowledge

James Benham is a maker, a creator and an innovator. He started his journey as a tech entrepreneur in his Texas A&M dorm room in 2001 and has had a wild ride of challenges and successes ever since. James and his amazing team at JBKnowledge built and sold one of their products, SmartBid, in a groundbreaking deal with ConstructConnect in 2018. They have since built and grown two other products, SmartCompliance and TerraClaim. JBKnowledge currently has over 240 employees in the USA, Argentina and South Africa and is a leading provider of technology products and services for Insurance and Construction.

Based in College Station, Texas, James served two terms on the College Station City Council and served for 5 years as an adjunct professor of Construction Science at Texas A&M. He’s a pilot with a passion for aviation and flies himself to most of his meetings and also plays the piano and the guitar. James’s philosophy for fellow entrepreneurs is to build self-funded businesses that are financially sustainable and growth oriented – an ideology that was passed down to him by his successful entrepreneur father. As the CEO of JBKnowledge, James continues to innovate tech for the Insurance and Construction industries. You may have even heard him sharing his wisdom and insights as the host on his popular weekly podcasts: The ConTechCrew and The InsureTech Geek, or in one of over 400 conferences he has spoken at in the last 15 years. James also was recently appointed by Texas Governor Abbott to serve as a Regent on the governing board of Texas Southern University.

Mark Berube, Network and Security Admin, Jaynes Corporation

Over 20 years ago, Mark’s passion for technology was channeled into building his own computers… loaded with Windows 98! The internet was not quite as robust back then, so most of the learning was from books, and focused on Linux and networks.

A few years later, these things called “blogs” became popular… they were like online journals maintained mostly by geeks… since before MySpace was a thing. This became the inspiration to start learning about how the internet works, and lead to his first coding project… programming a blog from scratch! After some robust research, PHP was chosen as the programming language and the path to coding started.

Around 2003, during the tech bubble burst, Mark was laid off from his position as Production Manager for a fabrication shop, and he decided to make a full career change. He went back to school to get certified in all the things he had been doing as hobbies and landed a position as a computer instructor for a tech learning center where he taught A+, Net+ and Microsoft Office courses.

Mark was hired in 2004 by Jaynes Corporation as a trainer, but that role quickly changed as his skills were being further discovered, and his roles have been continually evolving and adding value to the company ever since. He has progressed through the roles of Trainer, Tech Support, Analyst/Programmer and now holds the position of Network and Security Admin.

Donnie Bogle-Boesiger, LEED AP, Senior Virtual Construction Specialist, FINDORFF

Donnie’s short six years in the industry has been filled with excitement working on more than 1,500,000 SF of construction being built, including many types and sizes of projects. His curiosity is always what leads him through these projects. By asking questions and maintaining a collaborative environment, he’s continually looking for ways to improve himself and the team around him. As a part of the Virtual Construction team at Findorff, he works with project managers, superintendents, and other project stakeholders to coordinate construction virtually before boots hit the ground.

Dustin Burns, Vice President, Information Technology, McCownGordon

Dustin has served as the Technology Leader at McCownGordon for 16 years. He is responsible for the overall technology strategy in the office and at the jobsite. During his time at McCownGordon he has built and scaled technology processes and systems to support a rapidly growing company. Dustin has pushed the construction industry to do better. Being a trail blazer with mobile technology earned him a reputation for applying innovative solutions to an industry that is behind the curve in technology adoption. Seeing the need for cold hard fact-based decision making he’s driving data capture and analytic solutions to create predictable productivity.

Mike Carr, Director of IT, Clune Construction

Mike has more than 15 years of experience in the AEC industry and is the Director of IT for Clune Construction, a national general contractor with six offices across the country. He also spent more than 10 years implementing technologies in the manufacturing, software and training industries. Mike has proven expertise in cyber security, networking, project management, budgeting and management of service departments. He is constantly searching out emerging technologies and working with departmental champions to enhance Clune’s technology footprint. As a member of Clune’s senior staff, he routinely works to understand the needs of the business, not just the technology.

Nichole Carter

Working for various nationwide General Contractors since 2012, Nichole Carter has led multiple corporatewide initiatives that focused on establishing standard Quality Control objectives, expanding collaboration amongst members of the Owner, Architect, Engineer and Trade Partner communities, and easing the growing burdens on project field staff.

Now working as a full-time construction technology consultant, Nichole enjoys working with members of General Contractors, self-perform divisions and Specialty Contractors to empower their companies by utilizing strategically applied construction technology to improve their business processes, gain valuable operational insight, increase workflow efficiencies and produce leaner high-quality projects.

Benjamin Crosby, Director of BIM/VDC, WG Yates

Benjamin Crosby, CM-BIM, CM-Lean, CCM, LEED AP BD+C, is passionate about building and education. He earned a Construction Management Degree with Math and Physics Minors, from Brigham Young University, is a member of the AGC IT Forum Steering Committee, CMAA Professional Development Committee, and instructs the AGC BIM and Lean Education Programs. As a builder educator, he motivates people to how to improve their projects and careers. Family is important to him and Benjamin has been married to Bethany for 20 years and they have 7 children.

Benjamin started in construction on a framing crew building custom homes, then moved into management of large projects with an emphasis on electronic project management and scheduling.  He tried something different for 2 years teaching High School in Arizona, then returned to construction management in 2006. As BIM emerged, he has fully engaged in Virtual Design and Construction. As Director of VDC, Benjamin has overseen implementation of VDC for over 300 projects, representing various divisions of the Yates Companies, he has implemented BIM as an Owner, Designer, Construction Manager, General Contractor and as Trade Contractors. He has had significant influence in his companies Lean journey and is currently the Yates Companies ingenuity champion.

Mike Drevline, Partner, Business Advisory Services, Aerospace & Department of Defense (DoD) Compliance Services

Mike is a cybersecurity, risk management and data analytics executive based in the United States, servicing clients globally. Recently, Mike successfully completed the transition to RubinBrown, a national public accounting and business advisory firm, seeing through the acquisition of hoytNIVA (SDVOSB), a firm he founded in 2016. As a Partner and specialist in aerospace and defense department contracting, Mike continues to serve and protect the U.S. and our allies globally.

Mike also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army Special Forces (12th/20th SFG, USASOC, SOCOM) in addition to U.S. Intelligence Agencies.  He studied at Roosevelt University of Chicago in both the Heller Business School majoring in Accounting and their Executive MBA Program in Strategic Management and continues his education through executive leadership programs. Additionally, Mike is a 1988 graduate of Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie, Wyoming.

Mike spends his free time with his wife and four children in the Northwest Suburbs and North Shore of Chicago and can often be found at American Muscle and Exotic Motorcar Events, training with fellow master-level martial artists or through volunteering for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Olympic Torch Bearer Association and the Green Beret Foundation.

Steve Eliopolous, IT Program Manager, Rosendin

Steve is an IT Program Manager with both Office and Field/Jobsite Support experience, helping to support over 2,000 office personnel and large job sites, such as the new Chase Arena in San Francisco. He is dedicated to ensuring our electricians have what they need to be as successful as possible out in the field.

Additionally, Steve leads the Business Intelligence team, which helps turn tracked labor hours and material cost data into something digestible with visualizations and detailed drilldowns, helping to alert managers if jobs are not going as planned, and why.

Jonathan Evans, VDC Project Manager, Turner Construction

Jonathan is a Mechanical Engineer working as a VDC Project Manager with Turner Construction. Though his job description primarily concerns the reality capture process, BIM coordination and process documentation, he also enjoys championing VDC innovations that can be applied across jobsites and regions.

Dan K. Fordice, III, Vice President, Fordice Construction Company

2021 Senior Vice President, AGC of America

Dan is currently Vice President of Fordice Construction Co. in Vicksburg, MS, which is now a fourth- generation family business since his son Nathan joined the firm in August 2018. Dan and his brother Hunter operate Fordice Construction Co. which is mainly a Heavy and Civil Federal Construction firm that also builds bridges and has a building division with offices in Vicksburg and St. Francisville, LA.

Dan has been very active in the Associated General Contractors of America, both at the local and national level. He has served on almost every committee of the local MS Valley AGC Chapter and was Chapter President in 2001.  On the national level he has served on many committees and task forces. He has served as the Federal and Heavy Division Chairman, is a life member of the Board of Governors and served as the National PAC Co-Chairman and on the Executive Board and the Education and Research Foundation Board. Through the AGC, Dan was instrumental in helping to restart the AGC Student Chapter while attending MSU and he was president of the AGC Student Chapter in 1982.

David Gilbert, Application Architect, Anning-Johnson

David Gilbert is an Application Architect at Anning-Johnson, a recognized leader in specialty construction for 80 years. He is responsible for all software architecture, integrations, implementation, adoption, and rollout of business applications. He is also responsible for leveraging the most of the investment Anning-Johnson has made in Microsoft 365 and Azure. Large initiatives at Anning-Johnson that David is working on include:

  • Cloud Data Migration: Moving user data and applications from on-premises to the cloud
  • ERP Replacement: Replace on-premises ERP with new cloud-based one, including integrations to/from other existing systems
  • Move to Cloud PBX from traditional PBXs
  • Skype replacement, additional Teams feature rollouts and other MS tools

Experience with Office/Microsoft 365 for messaging and collaboration tools, including: SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, Office, PowerApps, PowerAutomate, etc. Able to define digital transformation roadmaps for usage and adoption, define communication and training plans and craft effective change management plans for users to improve adoption success. Brandon Hanacik, Senior Project Manager, Burger Consulting Group

Brandon Hanacik is a Senior Project Manager with Burger Consulting Group.  He specializes in helping clients implement software such as large-scale ERP and project management solutions on time and within budget. Oftentimes the projects that Brandon leads involve the integration of multiple solutions, which brings with it an added level of complexity and timing. He brings a unique skill set to the project as he has experience as a Project Manager with a large general contractor.

Mitch Holthus, Voice of the Kansas City Chiefs

Mitch Holthus is the voice of the Kansas City Chiefs and is the longest tenured and most decorated play-by-play “voice” in franchise history. He was on the call of Super Bowl 54 when the chiefs won their second Super Bowl championship. He also was on the call of Super Bowl 55 this past February in Tampa, Florida.

Holthus is also the host of the Hy-Vee Chiefs Insider television show and the Chiefs Rewind post-game show featured on several digital platforms. In addition, he originates the “Minute With Mitch” radio and television series which is seen and heard in five states. His work is also featured on

Following the NFL season, Holthus is a television play-by-play announcer for college basketball. His work has been featured on the ESPN family of networks, FOX Sports and other national outlets.

Robert J. Komisar

Bob graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a double major in Accounting and Management Information Systems. He has worked for Price Waterhouse in the audit department, a software company where he managed software selection and implementation for varied companies and for a national C.P.A. firm with an emphasis in the construction industry before forming his own company. Bob is currently the owner of Komisar CPA, Inc.

Bob has been involved on committees on local, state and national levels. Bob currently is a member of the IT Forum Steering Committee for the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and has spoken several times at the National Architectural/Engineering/Construction Computer Show on technology related topics.  Bob is a past president and associate board member of the Wisconsin Chapters of the AGC and has spoken to associations multiple times software system and implementation, computers and internal controls, strategic planning, business valuations, construction and financial management. He has also been published in trade journals and magazines on subjects concerning implementation, selection, process development and management.

Bob continues to assist general and subcontractors in the building trades facilitating strategic planning engagements and implementing those initiatives throughout their companies.

Matt Lamb, CIO, Rosendin Electric

Matt has been working in the construction industry in one capacity or another for the last 20 years. Currently, he is Chief Information Officer at Rosendin Electric and is focused on bringing new technology to the business and the construction industry as a whole. With his experience working for both a General Contractor and a Specialty Contractor, he has been able to help mesh construction processes with new technology so that they are usable and functional for all.

Laura Manaugh, Director of IT, Anning-Johnson

Laura Manaugh is the Director of IT at Anning-Johnson, a recognized leader in specialty construction. Anning-Johnson recently celebrated its 80th anniversary. Laura heads a team of IT professionals who recently completed a significant integration project connecting all Anning-Johnson’s SaaS solutions allowing for single point of entry for all data. Additionally, she and her team are working to complete a Zero Data Center footprint endeavor and transitioning to a Cloud PBX enterprise wide.

Her career spans 20 years including stints at a large general contractor and a well-known manufacturer of dual cycle engine power tools.

She earned her Master’s in Project Management in 2008 and is a US Army veteran.

Ryan Mays, Regional Sales Manager, HCSS

Ryan Mays is a Regional Sales Manager at HCSS. Ryan has been with HCSS for 7 years and helps construction companies all across the country identify and solve business problems using the HCSS suite of software and hardware. Ryan received his undergraduate from Texas A&M University and his MBA from University of Houston. He is a truck and heavy equipment enthusiast. Additionally, he is passionate about achieving operational and business efficiency in construction.

Ryan Nikolich, Director of Network Administration, Pepper Construction

Ryan is an experienced System and Network Director who manages Pepper Construction Cyber Security, Infrastructure, Storage, Networks and Connectivity to all their jobsites. Ryan has a master’s degree in Project Management and is a Evolve Security Alumni. Ryan brings a positive attitude along with a candid truth containing 20+ years of experience in construction I.T. into all of his speaking engagements.

Suman Paneru, VDC Engineer, Turner Construction Company

Suman has over five years of experience in the implementation of cutting-edge technology, especially on industrial and commercial buildings in the USA. He holds a Bachelor’s in Architecture and a Master’s in Construction Management. He is currently working as a VDC Engineer at Turner Construction where he is leading for the “build digitally first” approach, specializing in Construction Coordination.

DJ Phipps, Senior Strategic Product Consultant, Procore

Andrew Rider, Director of DesignTech, Associate / BIM Manager, Woolpert

With a decade of experience working with CAD and BIM technology, Andrew Rider is an experienced technician who continues to be on the cutting-edge of his field. Andrew has a strong background in a variety of projects, including military, educational and government facilities. He is proficient at establishing BIM execution plans, developing software frameworks for projects, and guiding design teams in the use of Revit BIM models. Andrew has extensive experience in developing BIM models, running clash detection, providing laser scanning, presenting models in Virtual Reality/Alternate Reality (VR/AR) environments, extracting COBie data, developing construction documents and performing quality control (QC) of BIM standards.

Andrew’s experience with creative, adaptive and innovative approaches makes him a valuable asset to a variety of project teams. At Woolpert, Andrew regularly hosts BIM roundtables where he educates employees about the use of BIM technology in the workplace and discusses important updates. Andrew is also adept at using VR/AR technology to help clients envision the three-dimensional space during design. This technology creates fully immersive environments in which clients can not only view the design, but stand in and walk through it, before construction begins. Andrew is adept at a variety of CAD/BIM software, including Revit, AutoCAD, NavisWorks, 3D Studio Max Design, and BIM360 (A360).

Riley Robinson, Safety Coordinator, Big-D Construction

Riley Robinson had a drastic change of events and shift in career focus when he was injured on the job, cutting two of his fingers off (they did grow back, just a little shorter), giving him time to think about what he wanted to do with his life. Since the dream of being a pop star was out of the question, decided to go into a field where he could help those in need of help or being injured. He completed his B.S.A. in Emergency Service Management at Utah Valley University and decided to go into the safety field, putting forth his energy into helping prevent others from being injured. Riley is a certified Construction, Health and Safety Technician (CHST) and is the Safety Coordinator for Big-D Construction, coming up on his six- year anniversary. He loves improving processes, policies and training that lead to the safety and well-being of others and believes that using technology can help in accomplishing his goal of safety for all.

Jeff Sample , Ironman of IT, Head of Communications, Join 

Jeff Sample has devoted the past 20+ years to transforming companies. Jeff optimizes companies throughout the construction industry by designing solutions, optimizing strategic advantages, and breaking down information silos. His passion for outdoor adventure and Ironman competitions garnered him the moniker “The Ironman of IT.” 

As Head of Communications for Join, Jeff promotes collaboration and the transformation of preconstruction to help project teams reach their potential. Michael Shapow, Partner, Business Advisory Services

Michael leads the Chicago office Business Advisory Services practice of RubinBrown. He has more than 35 years of consulting and consulting experience. He works with clients in various industries, especially construction, across all business functions including information technology, accounting, mergers and acquisitions, business development, market strategy, and executive leadership development. Mike manages RubinBrown team members experienced in cyber security, SOC compliance, internal audit, IT consulting and transaction services.

Michael is a frequent speaker to a variety of industries on technology topics including “ERP Evaluation and Selection,” “ERP Contract Negotiations,” “Cybersecurity for the Supply Chain,” and “Technology Trends Affecting Construction Contractors.” Michael is regularly quoted on IT and business topics by Crain’s Chicago Business, Chicago Tribune, Orlando Sentinel, Going Concern, Smart Business and Entrepreneur.

Michael is a graduate of Michigan State University, BA Accounting, and earned a Certificate of Management, Mini-MBA Program, from Loyola University, Chicago, IL. He is on the board of the Chicago chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants, a member of the Chicago Institute of Internal Auditors and a former board member of ASA Chicago.

Michael resides with his wife, of 28 years, and ten year old daughter, two dogs, and a cat in the South Loop.  Michael’s daughter, Tatum, has qualified for the state gymnastics competition three years in a row and advanced to the five state regional competition in 2021. Michael and Tatum are volunteers for Lasagna Love where they prepare and deliver lasagnas once a week for families in need throughout Chicagoland.

Brianne Stewart, Construction Technology Manager, Milwaukee Tool

As a Construction Technology Manager at Milwaukee Tool, Brianne explores construction trends and emerging technologies to drive practical, user-focused solutions. She has over ten years of experience in the manufacturing & development of consumer products, diesel engines and power tool accessories. Carrie Struss, Group Continuous Improvement Manager, Milwaukee Tool

Carrie Struss has been with Milwaukee Tool for 6 years and currently leads the Enterprise Continuous Improvement team. She has a B.S. in Industrial Technology, minor in Plastics Processing, and a Master’s Degree in Project Management. Carrie has spent over 15 years in manufacturing roles including Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management and Lean/Six Sigma. Although most of her career was in manufacturing, for the past 3+ years her focus has been on waste elimination and process scalability in the transactional space of the Milwaukee Tool Corporate Office. Laura Watts, Manager of Customer Success, Autodesk

Laura Watts is a Manager of Customer Success with Autodesk Construction Solutions. Laura originally joined Autodesk through the acquisition of BuildingConnected – where she was a Customer Success Manager helping customers implement, digitize and integrate their pre-construction software solutions. Now, at Autodesk Construction Cloud, she leads a team that is focused on helping customer streamline their entire construction software portfolio, connecting siloed workflows into one data environment and utilizing that data to drive important business decisions. 

Laura has worked in the SaaS industry for the last 7 years in a variety of industries. Through her experience, she has developed a unique understanding of the importance technology, innovation and leveraging data is for successful businesses. 

Lauren Williams, VDC Manager, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.

Lauren Williams is a VDC Manager at McCarthy Building Companies Central Region in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Stanford University in 2005 with a BS in Civil Engineering and has since established herself as an ambitious Construction Management professional who demonstrates a strong passion for construction technology, process management, and virtual design and construction. At McCarthy, Lauren is responsible for leading the VDC team for the $1.7B new National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency western headquarters construction project in St. Louis, MO – an effort managed and executed in partnership with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and a team of Design-Build partners – in which she and her team advocates for and implements integrated VDC solutions for the lifecycle of the project, from design through handover and operation. Lauren holds a Certificate of Management – Building Information Modeling (CM-BIM) from the AGC of America and is the current Chair for the AGC of America’s IT Forum Steering Committee.

Nathan C. Wood

Nathan C. Wood is an innovation influencer across the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. Nathan’s experience with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), Lean process improvement and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) has led him to realize how even proven technology solutions can often result in adoption failure and lost ROI. As Executive Director of the Construction Progress Coalition (, Nathan blends his passion for open collaboration with real-world skepticism to produce a pragmatic strategy digital standards adoption in design and construction. When not fighting for open standards, Nathan also supports the people and process transformation as Chief Enabling Officer of SpectrumAEC. Karen Wuerfl, Senior Operations/Technology Executive Leader, KLW Construction Technology Solutions

Karen is a senior operations/technology executive and leader who has spent her entire career in the construction industry. She is passionate about her goal: to help companies prosper by combining business acumen, operational excellence and optimal use of technology. Prior to starting her own consulting company, she spent most of her career as the CIO of J.F. White Contracting Co, a heavy civil construction company based in Boston, Massachusetts where she worked aside engineering and operations to build the infrastructure and cost control system that allowed them to double in growth.

Karen has participated on several boards and committees including AGC National IT Forum Steering Committee, Viewpoint industry Advisory Board, Construction Industries of Massachusetts, Women in Transportation, J.F. White Executive Committee and National Association of Women in Construction.

Russell Young, Vice President of Growth, Tenna

Russell Young, VP of Growth at Tenna, is a veteran speaker and expert facilitator of technology and construction-tech conversations.

Tom Zellner, Application and Integrations Developer, RJ Reliance

Tom Zellner is an Application and Integrations Developer at RJ Reliance, a leading client-focused Human Capital Management solution and service partner. Beyond developing, implementing and managing integrations between applications, he also works directly with clients and vendors during the discovery process to ensure complete coverage of integrations throughout the project lifecycle.
